An Ice Day for a Shower

Viral Ice Bucket Challenge

Thanks to a n-ice nomination from Kitsons Law Firm and a bit of staff persuasion here, we gave the directors a chill by asking them to get involved in the Ice Bucket Challenge in aid of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).

If you haven’t seen these videos, you must have been living under a rock (or in an igloo). The viral phenomenon has literally gone worldwide with various celebrity involvement, videos from famous brands and even a water shortage on one of the Scottish Isles.

What are we raising for?

At Chalk & Ward we didn’t know much about ALS, so before we got involved we wanted to find out more about the good cause we were donating to. And we don’t think we’re the only ones, so here’s a little bit about the disease itself:

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS leads to the loss of the brain’s control over muscle and movement and ultimately leads to the patient’s death.

Cold Shoulder

Although our Managing Director, Robert Chalk and Creative Director, Giles Ward, tried to give the challenge the cold shoulder (n-ice try!), we twisted their arms and managed to get them involved!

So now it’s your turn Ross Elliott at Chrysalis Courses, Keith Ockenden at Mole Valley Farmers and Andy Woodward at VanGuard – you have 24 hours and don’t forget to donate to a wonderful cause!
