Chalk & Ward New Office

Since moving into the new premises just over a month ago, Chalk & Ward Advertising are thriving in their new surroundings.

Having spent 10 years at Kings Wharf on Exeter’s stunning Quay, the move to Southernhay was not a hastily made decision, but certainly one that has proved successful.

The beautiful Georgian terraced building, with striking pillars and a wrought iron balcony, underwent a huge transformation internally, changing the layout of the property from a multitude of individual offices, to a bright and largely open plan working space spread across five floors. Stamped with Chalk & Ward Advertising’s creative individuality from glass boardrooms and stripped wooden floorboards, wood framed carpeted areas and the re-claimed doors which were found in a boarded up room in the basement now scrubbed, artfully paint-splashed and hung throughout.

The agency currently has 25 members of staff with room for several more and a collection of ‘hot desks’ that allow people to work on other floors if they need to be with a specific team, the move has been a positive and reenergising experience for everyone.

Managing Director, Robert Chalk said;

“It’s fantastic, it already feels like home, like we have been here far longer than a month. Being on The Quay was great, but being part of the main business community and the buzz of central Exeter has really given us a boost, it’s a really busy time for the agency and everyone is extremely motivated.”

The agency, which also includes its recently launched PR division, Chalk & Ward Public Relations is going from strength to strength and are extremely pleased to have recently won new contracts with international and national clients and feel that moving into their own property has given them the scope to build on their success.

Lisa Prescott, Account Director added;

“It’s a really positive and great commercial move for the agency to be positioned in the heart of the business community. It’s where we should be! To have landed ourselves in such a prime spot in a beautiful, Georgian building makes the agency a very special place to work”.
