Alarmtec was established in 1974 and has developed to become one of the country’s leading independent specialist fire and life protection system providers. They approached Chalk and Ward Advertising as they wanted to update their identity and create a solid consistent brand as part of a considered campaign of business growth.
The company was well known in certain sectors and within the South West but with big tender pitches coming up, Alarmtec needed to present themselves as a national, credible and professional company…and that’s where we stepped in.
Chalk and Ward went to the heart of the company and facilitated a workshop to establish the core values of the business. These values were then used to create a new brand for Alarmtec which presented their ‘Professionalism’ and ‘Reliability’.
Although well established, the company’s look and feel was very traditional and presented an outdated identity. Chalk and Ward’s main challenge was to therefore retain the company’s identity but to modernise the brand and evolve it to fit in to this current changing market.
Along with this, it was also important that the company established consistency across all of the internal and external marketing materials and across the whole of the organisation.
The development of the logo was a great success and Chalk and Ward were able to modernise it while incorporating an ‘established date’ to highlight the tradition of the company. Chalk and Ward also kept key elements in the logo, which was important to the client, such as the big ‘A’, which is well known throughout the company and the local area.
A brand identity was also created to work alongside the logo and a design style was put in place to strengthen the brand. This all worked with the strapline that Chalk and Ward had created for the company – ‘There for Life’. This strapline is now imperative to all messaging that goes out and presents Alarmtec as the only company you would use for your fire and life protection systems.
The new branding continues to be incorporated throughout all their internal and external marketing material. This includes a brochure, stationery, electronic internal marketing documents, vehicle livery, uniforms and a holding page while the website is being built by Chalk and Ward.
Alarmtec now have a credible brand to be proud of and one which will support them as they move forwards and grow the business over the next 40 years.
