Axminster Power Tools have grown from a market town retail store into a market leader in the mail order business. They sell tools and machinery to customers ranging from trade professionals and businesses to amateur DIY and hobby enthusiasts.
Chalk & Ward Advertising were tasked to create an ongoing PPC Strategy to generate new customers and increase sales. The PPC strategy had to deliver on two levels. Firstly, to promote specific products and pricing which had a better offering than the competition and secondly to deliver brand awareness of the clients’ extensive product range.

We created an initial strategy to separate the product specific from general approach and then continually reviewed performance of keywords and ads based upon conversions to the website. The client regularly updated us on changes to their product portfolio to allow us to add in new product specific ads ongoing.
The continual outcome has been very positive for Axminster Power Tools with continual improvement in online sales from PPC and online overall. The PPC strategy implemented has seen a reduction in the cost per conversion to its lowest ever.
In addition, the PPC costs for acquisitions dropped significantly due to our continual testing and refining strategy, therefore, freeing up spend to utilise elsewhere.
