Jamaica Inn, one of Cornwall’s most famous landmarks, has a legacy that spans centuries. This legendary Inn, restaurant and visitor attraction is situated on the wild Bodmin Moor and was the very place in which Daphne du Maurier wrote her world renowned novel ‘Jamaica Inn’.
Jamaica Inn was acquired by Surrey entrepreneur Allen Jackson in March 2014 for a figure over £2million. As soon as Allen set foot in the inn, he could sense the huge potential and wanted to breathe new life into the Inn and increase its growth.
Our PR efforts, partnered with the recent BBC adaptation, pushed the turnover of the inn to £604,817 between the 1st March to 19th July 2014. This is a staggering increase of 21.3% on revenues from the same period in 2013.
Chalk & Ward’s PR efforts were featured on a wide and varied range of titles including BBC’s The One Show, BBC and ITV Regional News, the Sunday Times, the Telegraph, the Daily Mail, the Independent, the Western Morning News, BBC Radio Cornwall, Pirate FM and Heart FM, to name a few!
Jamaica Inn is currently going from strength to strength and is being unearthed once more as a national treasure tucked away on Cornwall’s eerie moor.
Chalk & Ward’s PR team have smothered us in attention, ideas, well written copy and priceless reminders at our busiest times resulting in a highly successful launch of the newly acquired Jamaica Inn.
