Rare & Antique Books is an online book retailer specialising in collectible modern and children’s First Edition books. Their impressive collection includes authors such as Ian Fleming, C.S Lewis, Rudyard Kipling and classic titles such as Sherlock Holmes and Alice in Wonderland.

Since its foundation, the business has gone from strength to strength, growing into a major player within the UK market and expanding its customer base throughout Europe, US and Australia.

THE CHALLENGE

Chalk & Ward were tasked with launching the company into the market, involving development of the website alongside an integrated digital marketing strategy involving brand awareness, SEO, PPC and E-commerce optimisation.

The website needed to be as user-friendly as possible, whilst showing all the complex information of the books and retaining the professional brand essence as much as possible. There was also a need for adding news and content which can be done via the simple yet well-designed blog area within the site.

THE RESULT

Since the new website was launched, Rare & Antique Books have seen their website visitors increase by over 10% month-on-month, with a similar increase in sales. Their new website can also be found on the first page of Google for many competitive search terms due to extensive SEO being recently carried out by our digital team. The new website also features an integrated online store, where users can shop over 200 First Edition books and filter their results by author or even their favourite character.

The most recently added books include a 1st impression of The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien, a 1st edition of Casino Royale by Ian Fleming and The Cat in The Hat by Dr. Seuss.
