Recognised as Employer of the Year

Chalk + Ward are excited to announce that Lisa Prescott, Client Services Director at Chalk + Ward, has been recognised as the Employer of the Year at the Devon and Cornwall Venus Awards. The winning announcement was made during the awards ceremony at The Crowne Plaza in Plymouth on Friday 27 April.

The Employer of the Year Award recognises a female friendly boss with up to 50 employees. It was one of two categories that can be represented by a male or female and recognises an employer who goes above and beyond to ensure a happy and welcoming environment in the workplace.

Robert Chalk, Managing Director of Chalk + Ward, commented,

‘Lisa is strategically astute and has a genuine passion, enthusiasm and energy to grow client’s businesses and the team around her at Chalk + Ward. As Client Services Director, it’s her job to manage our impressive team of account handlers, something she does with ease. We couldn’t be prouder that she has won this award’.

Sponsored by Bishop Fleming

The category was sponsored by Bishop Fleming one of the most vibrant firms of Top 40 Accountants, with a good eye for recognising the highest standards.

Claire Ambrose, Corporate Services Manager of Bishop Fleming, commented on Lisa’s award win,

‘We were delighted to have some excellent candidates for our sponsored category of Employer of the Year, so it was a very difficult decision to choose a winner. Chalk + Ward ticked all of the boxes with being a caring and flexible employer. The culture and ethos of the firm is one of wanting their staff to be considered worthwhile, important and valued whilst encouraging and developing their talents as far as possible. The focus on staff wellbeing has been taken to a higher level with their core values and re-vamp of the office space to provide the right creative environment for their employees to name but a few initiatives’.

An ambassador for
Chalk + Ward

Lisa is a great ambassador for Chalk + Ward and has progressed from junior account manager to be the first female board member who leads by example.

Lisa commented,

‘I feel very privileged to have been awarded ‘Employer of the Year’, it’s a real honour, particularly, as there were some fantastic nominees in this category. It is impossible to be a good employer, without an amazing team of people to manage, so this is most definitely a team effort and it’s great to take the award back to the agency. I’d like to say a big thank you to whoever nominated me, being anonymous I can’t thank you in person but hopefully you might get to see this and know you made me very happy!’.
