What is your top tip for mental wellbeing?

Mental health is the same as physical health – everyone has it and we need to take care of it. But some of us feel more comfortable talking about it than others.

Hannah is our first fully trained Mental Health First Aider and she is our first port of call for all Nu-Heat employees, if they feel they need advice or help. We all need to support our mental health at work, whether we feel we have a mental health problem or not.

What steps do you take to ensure good mental wellbeing?

I find that feeling close to, and valued by, other people is very important for me. There isn’t a day that goes by that someone does something that is helpful for me or for others in our business. The simplest thing to do in the world is to go to them in person and say ‘thanks’ – what better way to connect than that?

How do you combat being in a low mood?

There’s a strong link between physical health and mental health and I love to run. I’m a middle aged plodder really, but I totally get that sense of freedom from being out in the wild – my mind wanders freely as I run.
